International Magic - Comedy Show

November 28th, 2009 by Andrew Webb

The Friday night comedy show was compered by Otiz Cannelloni, who started with a strong and quite funny opening set before introducing the other three comedy acts for the evening

First up was Geoff Williams from the USA, who performed a very good and comedy filled six card repeat, followed by a rube cube in mouth piece. Closing with, I believe, a Chad Long Card on toy gun routine. Geoffs set was very entertaining and a good start to the show.

Next up after more of Otiz was Chris Mitchell. Presenting a comedy ‘game show host’ mind reading act. He performed Chinese prayer sticks, a torn and restore newspaper along with an amusing card revelation involving a ‘party reptile’ snake, rapping and an audience member on stage, which again was amusing.

The final act of the show was the Raymond & Mr Timpkins Revue, an act that is quite hard to describe, except that for me they were actually extremely funny. The set involved various snippets of songs, whilst the duo held up props, words and ran about stage. Which in itself sounds slightly strange. However it was strange, funny and extremely entertaining, and an excellent closer to a good comedy show.
