The 30th New Zealand International Magicians Convention will take place June 5th through June 7th 2010, held at the popular Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre in Auckland, the focus of next year’s convention is professional real-world, world-class magic.

Featuring the Greatest Lineup of Magic Talent Ever Assembled in New Zealand with Whit Haydn direct from Los Angeles, California - you’ll be charmed by the comedy and magic of Whit Haydn. The Academy of Magical Arts have honoured him with an astonishing six awards - Stage Magician of the Year, WC Fields Bar Magician of the Year, twice Parlour Magician of the Year and twice Close-Up Magician of the Year.

John Carney the magician at the Auckland Magicians Convention in Auckland, widely recognised as one of the top sleight-of-hand experts in the world, The Academy of Magical Arts have awarded John Carney more awards than anyone in their history. He’s a seven-time recipient of Magician of the Year and author of the critically acclaimed works “Carneycopia” and “The Book of Secrets.”

From the UK, International Superstar, Magician and Household Name Paul Daniels, Paul will be performing his hour-long act in our evening shows, appearing in a very special career retrospective and Q+A, and for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere, presenting his exciting new masterclass “Inside the Mind of Paul Daniels” on Friday the 4th of June.

Darren Carr is recognised as Australia’s number one stand up ventriloquist. He has been honoured with numerous entertainment awards, in 2007 and 2008 winning back-to-back MO Awards for Speciality Performer of the Year and in 2009 the ACE Awards for Best Sight Act and Best Comedy! He has twice accepted invitations to appear as a headliner at international ventriloquist conventions in the USA

The banquet will feature the rapid-fire comedy magic of TC Tahoe! He’s performed for Hollywood’s elite including Pierce Brosnan, Jane Seymour, Steven Seagal, Minnie Driver, Sean Penn and Josh Brolan. He’s one of the most in-demand cruise ship magicians in the world and has twice been named Academy of Magical Arts Parlour Magician of the Year.

New Zealand’s own Paul Romhany will be performing his full Charlie Chaplin act in the “International Stars of Magic” public shows. Paul got his start in magic many years ago as a junior member of the Shore City Magicians Club and is now an in-demand professional who has performed all over the world. His famous PCAM Gold Medal winning Charlie Chaplin magic act is regarded as one of the most original and entertaining shows in magic today, delivered in the silent film star’s formidable style.
