Day Three’s final session of The Essential Magic Conference was hosted by Luis De Matos. The EMC had generously opened this final session to all as a free broadcast.

Ton Onosaka opened the session with a lovely card effect using a spectator selected card was pushed back into the deck.

As the card was pushed down into the deck, it was shown that the entire deck had its backs move down, the backs now half blank, and half printed, except of course, the chosen card. The deck was then returned and shown in its normal, fully printed state. A lovely effect.

William Kalush then talked about something very close to our hearts; Ask Alexander and the Conjuring Arts Research Center. William talked about Alexander, a system that allows CARC members to search a huge amount of scanned and archived material, with close to 1,000,000 pages of publications, books, notes and material.

As an added bonus, all EMC registrants were given a one month pass to Ask Alexander, as well as anyone who registered to EMC within the next 24 hours.

Mike Caveney was next and talked about the egg bag, before he performed Delphines version. A larger than normal egg bag that allowed multiple production of real eggs. A stunning version allowing him to pass a brass ring over the bag to show it empty whilst pulling 30 eggs from it. The kicker at the end was the production of a live chicken from the bag. Stunning stuff!

Gazzo came to the table with a pack of cards, before giving them back to do what only Gazzo can do best, the cups and balls. What can you say about Gazzo’s cups and balls. The Master.. Sharp wit, amazing

Luis De Matos came on to close the session with his rendition of alchemy, clear water turned black before three vases of colours sand were poured into the water and mixed.

He then grabbed fistfuls of water to pour the coloured sand back out, dry and unmixed. He received a thermenous applause from the studio and on line viewers.

Finally Luis convinced Cyrill to perform his classic cigarette routine
