Scott Land ~ USA (FIRST EVER UK APPEARANCE)
Scott Land is a puppeteer at the top of his game. His seasoned performing skills are on display in nearly every scene of Paramount Pictures’ Team America: World Police. During the making of the movie – the most expensive puppet-driven feature film ever produced – Scott did more than pull the strings on dozens of lead characters. Throughout the 4 months of shooting, Land lent his expertise to director/producers Trey Parker and Matt Stone who, shot by shot, relied on his 25 years of marionette experience to help them create their landmark film. Other screen credits include Disney’s The Princess Diaries 2, for which he created and performed a Julie Andrews look-alike marionette. His other TV and film credits include Pee Wee’s Playhouse, The Ben Stiller Show, Still Breathing, Shakes the Clown and Rodney Dangerfield’s Birthday Bash.

He performs in a way that will go straight to your heart. He is a master of metamorphosis – both as a magician and as a performer. Spectators enjoy it when he plays with different characters: the likeable nerd, the strange egocentric, the dazzling seducer, the inscrutable Mafioso, the ingenious professor, the conceited prima donna, the child, the animal, Little Red Riding Hood and the big bad wolf…Just tell him what he’s supposed to, choose a topic and a language, and he will comply – within seconds.

His first book titled Devious Realities was published by the highly regarded ‘Wizard’ Kenton Knepper, who openly admitted he was fooled and impressed by Peter’s material.

South Tyneside International Magic Convention 2013 Dates Announced

May 31st, 2012 - Magic Convention Guide

The ever successful South Tyneside International Magic Convention  has been confirmed to be Friday 8th to Sunday 10th March 2013 thanks to the main sponsors Magicbox, Customs House and South Tyneside Council.

The price remains at £65 includes all lectures, close-up sessions, 2 Gala Shows. You can also gain free access to the exclusive “Midnight Show” on Friday night at the convention HQ

Registration is NOT open yet – previous delegates will be offered spaces first – that will be sometime in the Summer

Names of lecturers and performers should start to be announced in the next couple of weeks, and every year there are performers and lecturers who have never appeared in the UK before.

In the past the convention has had names including Greg Wilson, Sylvester the Jester, Richard Osterlind, Jamy Ian Swiss, Michael Finney, Gaston Quieto, Docc Hilford, Daniel Garcia, Robert Baxt, Trixie Bond, Alain Nu and Brando & Silvana. Add to those names Max Maven, Boris Wild, Banachek, Paul Daniels, Geoffrey Durham, Pete Firman. Luke Jermay, Marc Paul, David Berglas, Whit Haydn, Shoot Ogawa, Romany Charlie Frye, Juan Tamariz, John Archer, Terry Herbert, Quentin Reynolds, John Lenahan, Patrick Redford, Paul Romhany, Steve Axtell and Bob Sheets, David Williamson, Banachek, Brad Manuel, Joshua Quinn, Tim Sonefelt, Simon Drake, Wayne Dobson, Lennart Green, Roni Shachnaey, Richard McDougall, Jeton, Shahid Malik, Jason Latimer, Paul Vigil, Andrew Van Buren, Jon Stetson, Colin McLeod, Norbert Ferre, Nicholas Einhorn, David Stone and Gary Dunn.

This years convention featured David Regal, Levent, Rob Torres, Markus Beldig, Robert Temple, Ricky McLeod, Mat Ricardo, Archini & Smith High Jinx and Christian Schenk.

If you cannot attend the entire weekend (and we’d fully recommend it) you can join a Master Class on the Sunday afternoon.

Master Classes are ideal because sometimes the lecturers would like to spend more time on a particular effect. They are also a way of getting to see and learn from a performer in an intimate setting, and perhaps getting one-on-one instruction on a routine that has been developed and perfected over years, saving you months of trial and experimentation. Each Master Class is limited to 20 people

Full details will be announced soon.
