We’re going to be listing some of the new releases we’ve heard about for this years Blackpool Magic Convention, if you’re wondering what to buy, you may want to check out some of the new releases..
Alakazam Magic always has a great line up of new stuff for Blackpool, as well as their usual Alakazam range they will have the following at the stand, including the exciting Psyclock, which we believe will be very limited availability this weekend!
Psyclock by Paul Stockman – This is a fantastic routine for almost any performance situation. A standard wall clock is shown to be working and the battery is removed to stop the clock. A spectator is selected from the audience. She is handed a bell and given the very important task of ringing it at some point during your show. She is told to ring it whenever she feels the time is right. You now set the clock with a prediction time, put it in a large envelope and place it on an easel or stand in full view of your audience. You never touch the clock again!
At any given moment your spectator can ring the bell. When she does she is asked to come on stage, check the time on her watch and write it on the envelope. She now takes the envelope (which contains the clock) back to her seat and is instructed to keep it safe until the end of the show). As the finale to the show you ask her to bring the envelope back on stage, remove the clock from the envelope and call out the time you set it to at the beginning of the show. It is the exact time your spectator has written on the envelope!
Cartomancy By Peter Nardi – Cartomancy is the art of telling fortunes with playing cards. This method of giving readings has been used for hundreds of years and is still used to this day. In fact some people still believe that a single playing card holds the key to their luck and can influence their future. Does the Cartomancy scratch card really know the future? Peter Nardi’s Cartomancy is a killer commercial effect for the close up magician!
Rubik Predicted By Mark Elsdon – A fantastic Rubik effect that you can carry in your wallet! This new effect from Rubik’s Cube expert Mark Elsdon allows you to tap into the fun, mystery and impossibility of solving the Cube – without even needing to carry one! A spectator freely chooses a random mixed-up Cube design and without any sleights, gaffs or ‘outs’ the performer reveals a photo that predicts the design exactly!
Royal Command By Nick Langham – Nick Langham’s Royal Command Is an easy to perform card rise that’s like no other. Your spectator creates an almost perfect poker hand in their mind. They scan through the imaginary cards in their hand and for the first time name the missing card ie suit and value. You now draw attention to a deck which has been on full view throughout the performance. The cards are removed from the deck and you ask your spectator to concentrate on the card that will complete their winning hand. The thought of card now eerily rises from the deck!
