FISM BLACKPOOL 2012, THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF MAGICJoshua Jay will be presenting his one man show on Monday 9th July 2012 and Tuesday 10th July 2012 which has never been seen in the U.K previously, at FISM 2012 in Blackpool this year.

Over 145 competitors have entered the World Championships of Magic. There are 3 stupendous Gala Shows, a Banquet and a night at the famous Blackpool Tower Circus, 30 star lectures and 125 International Magic Dealers. Over 2,000 magicians from 40 different countries have already registered.

FISM 2012 Is Now Less Than a Year Away

Blackpool FISM 2012It is now just less than a year to go before the olympics of magic takes place in the UK. From 9th to 14 July 2012 Blackpool will play host to the 25th FISM World Championships of Magic.

Registrations are pouring in from all over the world so you need to act quickly if you plan to attend. There is an application form on the Blackpool Magicians’ Club website, www.blackpoolmagic.com.

The headquarters hotel for the 2012 FISM event will be the Blackpool Hilton which is only a short distance from the Winter Gardens.

We will be as always bringing you all the news information and updates on FISM 2012 in the run up to the event.

March 12th, 2010 - Magic Convention Guide

The official website for FISM 2012 is now live at www.fismwcm2012.com. It covers all the information for the FISM 2012 World Championships of Magic.

The site confirms the details of using the Opera House for the FISM Stage Competitions, The Grand Theatre for the Close Up Competition, The Tower Ballroom for the Banquets along with The Tower Circus, as well as the main Winter Gardens Complex.

In a change from previous Blackpool Conventions, The Headquarters hotel will be the Blackpool Hilton Hotel, which is situated a short distance from the Convention venues and will act as a central meeting and socialising place outside of the FISM championships events.

Registration details are also available on the site, along with the competition entry forms and information.

Registration fees for Blackpool 2012 are:

Booked Before 31st March 2010 – 450 Euros
Booked Before 31st March 2011 – 500 Euros
Booked After 31st March 2011 – 550 Euros

We caught up with Derek Lever during the Blackpool Magic Convention to talk briefly about this years convention, and some of the things you can expect at the 2011 convention.

The 2011 Blackpool Magic Convention starts at 9am on Friday 18th February 2011, and will include the first European FISM Championships, featuring 30 close up performers and 60 stage performers!

Blackpool 2011 to Include FISM European Championships

Blackpool Magicians Club have confirmed that their bid to obtain the European Championships from FISM has been accepted and the FISM European Championships will be held as part of the Blackpool Convention in 2011.

The length of the 2011 Convention will be slightly extended in that it will commence on Friday morning at 9.00 a.m. and much of the Convention will be dedicated to world class Close-Up and Stage competitions.

A meeting will be held with the Presidium (Committee of FISM) during Blackpool Convention week to draft the plans for the conference. Entry details for competitors will be released as soon as possible. This will be the very first official FISM European Championships ever staged. Another major coup for Blackpool Magicians’ Club.

As previously advertised Blackpool will be hosting the FISM World Championships in 2012 in July (as well as the normal Blackpool Convention in February, 2012). The official FISM 2012 website will be launched in the coming weeks.

Registrations for the Blackpool Convention in February 2010 are at an all time high and is predicted that the event will sell out soon.

Registrations for the FISM World Championships in 2012 have already exceeded expectations and we believe that this event will also sell out before 2012.
