Andi Gladwin and Rob James’ The Session 2009 is fast approaching (17th and 18th Jan) and is set for another sellout.

Joining Ray Kosby (USA), David Acer (Canada), John Guastaferro (USA), Noel Qualter (UK) and John Archer (UK) is contemporary magician John van der Put, who recently won 1st place at the IBM Close-Up Competition. John’s alter ego Piff the Magic Dragon will be performing in the evening show.

The popular South Tyneside International Magic Festival has been announced, the dates listed as Friday 13th: Saturday 14th: Sunday 15th March 2009.

Sponsored by Magicbox and The Customs House Theatre the convention will be hosted by the Customs House Theatre in South Shields and the Sea Hotel will again be the venue for the Welcome Evening and the Midnight Show.

Psycrets have announced the fourth of the Tabula Mentis event to take place in London. Tabula Mentis IV will this time focus on seance, bizarre, and psychic demonstrations, and will take place on 15 November 2008 at 7 Mallow Street, London.

The line up of lecturers and speakers feature, Roni Shachnaey - Rogova seance, Jon Randall (Editor. Pentacle Magazine) - Fraud! A lecture on mediumship, Tom Lauten - Creating aged props for bizarre magick and Dr. Steve Murray - Bizarre magick.

There will also be a special evening presentation with David Berglas.

Richard Turner, The world renowned ‘Card Cheat’ is rumored to be appearing on the Friday Night at the International Magic Convention In London this November. In the conventions aim this year of getting ‘All New’ never before seen acts in the UK, this will be Richards first UK convention presenting his entire card shark act.

Last year Guy Hollingworth performed his ‘Expert At The Card Table’ on the Friday night, and we’re lead to believe that Richard will be appearing in a similar show late on the Friday night.
