Don’t forget that The Wessex Magical Association One Day Convention takes place on the 3rd of April 2011 at the Kinson Community Centre, Pelhams Park, Millhams Road, Bournemouth, BH10 7LH

Although many have already taken advantage of the early booking discount, you can still take advantage of advance tickets until 31 March, You have probably heard about the Convention, but, whether you have booked yet or not, you may be interested in up to the minute information.

The action-packed day starts at 9.30 am and finishes with The Gala Show which starts at 6.30 pm.

There will be Lectures by Jay Scott Berry whose “Signature” lecture includes many of his finest ideas, gimmicks and routines, all of which are active elements of his professional shows.

Romany, who performs professionally as a close-up magician as well as in cabaret and on stage, presents “That Thing You Do!” which is mainly about presentation, how we treat props, how to know who you are before you set foot on the stage, and of course a couple of tricks too.

Phill Smith, who presents “Mitox Mentalism”, exposing the secrets of engaging mentalism and mental magic with a focus on practical methods and impactful presentation.

Paul Gordon who describes his lecture, “Commercial Card Conjuring” as professional powerhouse card magic that ought to fry your audiences, and Tony Griffith whose ‘’Reflections’’ covers commercial, practical magic which Tony has created and performed close up in restaurants, hotels and trade shows, and in his one-man shows.

In addition to Romany, Jay & Phill, the Gala Show includes Peter Wardell who is the Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year 2010, and is compered by the WMA’s own Paul Hyland.

There will also be Close-up Sessions and a dedicated Dealers’ Hall open all day. Parking is free & Food & Refreshments will be available all day.
